nexial: Philip K. Dick’s book VALIS (1981) features in two episodes of Lost. In “Eggtown” Locke gives Ben a copy of the book to read while he is being held in the barracks. Ben tells him he has read it before, but Locke suggests he may have missed something in it the first time. It then appears again in “The Other Woman”. Here we see Ben reading it (presumably the first time).
